About
The practice behind heyedd softwares.
A portfolio of frontend, mobile, and full-stack engagements. Engagements run as solo deliveries, embedded team roles, or small collaborations — whichever shape fits the work.
What kind of practice this is
heyedd softwares is the engagement-side of the wider heyedd family. Where heyedd.com is the personal side — writing, products, longer-form work — heyedd softwares is the place client engagements live.
Engagements take whatever shape the project needs. Some are solo end-to-end deliveries. Many run as embedded roles inside an existing team. A few have been small collaborations — pairing with another senior engineer or designer to ship something neither of us would alone. The case studies include all three shapes.
Background
Senior software engineering since 2012, with the practical mix of frontend, mobile, and full-stack work that comes from a long career in delivery-led environments. The archive sits across:
- React and React Native — greenfield SPAs, white-label mobile apps, geospatial / GIS systems, and real-time broadcast tools.
- Node + AWS — APIs, transactional services, deploy pipelines, and the operational backbone that makes products ship.
- WordPress, PHP, and Java — earlier chapters of the career, still useful for migration and legacy-rescue engagements.
How engagements run
Three common shapes:
- Solo build. A defined project with a clear scope — delivered end-to-end, usually 1-3 month engagements.
- Embedded with your team. Joining your existing team for a fixed window as a senior engineer. Most useful when there's a temporary capacity gap or a specific stream that needs senior shape.
- Tech lead / architecture. Working with a small team on architecture decisions, code review culture, and the engineering practices that compound. Best in 3-6 month windows.
Some engagements bring in another contractor or two — designer, backend specialist, devops. That's by arrangement, not the default. Whatever the shape, the primary contract is direct, and the deliverable is mine to stand behind.
How to reach out
Best to email with a few lines on what you're building, your timeline, and where you are in the world. Engagement enquiries get a response within a couple of working days.
