How to get an AI chatbot that answers from your company's documents
If your team answers the same questions every day, and the answers are already written down somewhere, an AI chatbot can answer them instead. I build chatbots that answer from your company’s documents. Each answer shows where it came from, and the chatbot says “not found” rather than guess. You don’t need to train ChatGPT on anything. This is called RAG.
The problem
- Customers email or call with questions your help pages already answer.
- New staff ask the same questions about policies and processes, and the person who knows is busy.
- The answer is in a manual, a contract or a report, but nobody can find it quickly.
Each of those answers costs someone’s time, every time.
What I build
A chatbot that answers from your documents:
- On your website, for customers, or inside your app or an internal tool, for staff.
- Answers that point to the page or document they came from, so people can check them.
- “Not found” when the documents don’t cover a question, and a way to reach a person if you want one.
- Kept up to date as your documents change.
How we start
- You send the documents, or tell me where they live.
- You send a list of real questions people ask, with the right answers.
- I build a first version on your documents, and we test it against your questions.
- Once the answers are right, it goes live on your site or app.
Fewer made-up answers
AI chatbots sometimes make things up and say it confidently. That’s called hallucination. A chatbot that answers from your documents does it far less, because it shows its sources and says “not found” instead of guessing. It doesn’t stop it completely, which is why it’s tested against your questions before launch. See AI hallucination: why your AI makes things up.
Your documents stay private
The documents can stay on your own servers. The chatbot can use AI from OpenAI or Anthropic, or an AI model running on your own server, so the documents never leave it.
FAQ

What kinds of documents work? Anything that’s text, or can be turned into text: PDFs, web pages, help articles, policies, transcripts.
Can it go on my website? Yes, as a chat on your site or inside your app.
What does it cost to run? See how much it costs to run AI in your app.
